PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH THE SEVERITY OF CHRONIC BACK PAIN IN ADULTS: A CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY

ABSTRACT Objective: determining the multidimensional factors associated with severity of chronic back pain is essential to design appropriate interventions. The objective this study was assess physical and emotional in adults. Method: a descriptive, analytical cross-sectional study, carried out between November 2017 December 2018 Family Health Strategies, 198 adults pain. Pain severity, assessed by Brief Inventory, considered outcome variable; interference daily activities (Brief Inventory), disability (Roland Morris Disability Questionnaire), quality life (World Organization Quality Life-Brief) threshold (digital algometer) variables were explanatory. A Multivariate Multiple Linear Regression analysis, using stepwise method 5% significance, preformed establish an explanatory model severity. Results: mean age 48.03 years old (standard deviation: 12.41). Most participants women, married worked. that had significant joint impact on (parameter: 0.196; p-value<0.001) mood 0.054; p-value=0.039) domain -0.032; p-value<0.001).
